The Betrayal
Our initial ideas for the use of characters was to use two protagonists with one being the victim and the other one being a villain. After looking at action/thriller conventions, they tend to have one 'bad guy' and one 'good guy'. We will also have a boss who is creating this drama and another man who assists with helping the victim escape. We thought by following this convention it could make our trailer effective.
We want to dress the villain in a suit as most mystery men in other action/thriller films are dressed this way. His hair will be slicked back and his suit will be smartly worn to show power within his character. He will be carrying a knife and a gun at certain points in the trailer. This makes it clear he is a dangerous character.
The boss and the other man who assists the victim will also being wearing suits because the clothing gives a sense of authority. It shows that both men are powerful and capable of fulfilling what they intend to do. The helpful man who assists the victim will be shown smoking a cigarette to portray that he is a good man but may also have a 'bad guy' personality aswell. This adds more power and shows that he will not be a character who is a push-over and could possibly turn out to be a hero.
Finally, the victim will be wearing her normal clothes to show that she has been targeted unexpectedly. She will look panicked throughout certain parts of the trailer, which means that close-ups will be effective when filming her.
This is our initial storyboard, which we have made before we start filming. This gives us an insight into the camera angles we will use as well as the dialogue and locations. By creating our shot by shot storyboard, this helps us have an idea of the plot and camera angles we will use as well as the dialogue and locations. After creating our initial storyboard, we will then create a more detailed storyboard. By having a further detailed storyboard, it will help us when we begin to film. When we arrive at our locations, the detailed storyboard will assist with filming as we will know what we would like each shot to particularly look like. It also shows that we have planned our trailer and with organisation we will have enough footage and a variety of shots. However due to complications in the group the story board has not been finished.
